Oh... My... God... Drew left work early today. I think hell has frozen over. Keep your heads up, people, this could be the first sign of the coming apocalypse.

Gnomie

A few years ago my stepdad, D, bought a plug-in light up garden gnome. He was named Gnomie and has since become a beloved member of the family. Gnomie occasionally gets a place setting at Christmas dinner (actually I think that only happened once) and is always brought downstairs for present opening. My mom made place card candle holders for everyone one year. Gnomie got one too. It's become a running gag with the family that Gnomie is actually D's son. This arose when it became apparent that my brother thought the whole Gnomie thing was ridiculous. "Don't be jealous of your brother, Jesse" He gets so mad. It's too hilarious for words.

This year for Christmas my brother gave my stepdad a card saying that he accepts D and his plastic son. I will post a couple of pics taken of Gnomie this Christmas once I actually take them off my camera.

I love Gnomie just as much as if he were a real boy. Maybe one day the Blue Fairy will make all our dreams come true without Gnomie having to go through the whole swallowed by a whale/Fantasy Island/I've Got No String business. We can only pray, dream and wish upon a star.

Acceptacles

Oh Kevin...

He is always putting food in his pockets. Well, not that he’s always doing it, but when he needs to transport food for some reason ‘pocket’ is on the acceptable receptacle list. A few weeks ago I made a new rule “Food does not go in pockets” or “pockets are not for food” something like that.

He does this weird thing with bananas too. He takes the peel ALL the way off. Drives me NUTS! I remember on one of out first dates we went on a picnic. I sat there and watched in horror as he straight up fully peeled a banana and then put it on his pant leg while putting the peel in our garbage bag. All I could think was “Dude!! It’s on your pants!!” But I didn’t feel like I was in a place where I could say something like that. (yet)

This prompted Kari and I to talk about the "Acceptable Receptacle" List. I think tupperware and other dishes are acceptable food receptacles, as are napkins and paper towels. Even hands are ok sometimes. Pockets, I believe, go on the "Unacceptable Receptacle" list.

Tupperware
Dishes

Napkins & other paper products
Clean Hands

Unacceptable Receptacles:
Pockets
Bed Pans (this was Kari's)
Swimming Pools (also Kari's)
Dirty Hands (there's some very heated history there)

But at the end of the day, I think he's the still cutest. I mean, how cute is it when a cute boy looks at you with his cute face and then pulls a cookie out of his pocket for you? SUPERCUTE!

Birthday Big Up!

Today is my little brother's 22nd birthday! My brother is my fav'rit guy! Sadly, now he's old. OLD, OLD, OLD!!! Well, I suppose that happened last year.
My brother is super rad. He’s always happy to make me laugh, which is something I always look for in a best friend. He's an actor, director, videographer, sound guy, editor, musician extraordinaire, artist, hockey player, prankster, loving boyfriend, loving son, friend to all and all around nutjob.

He’s always been there for me and I hope to always be there for him.
